Why this show

Both hosts are practitioners and creators

Most shows have one or the other. Phil and Darrell are recognized as experts in technical marketing by their peers, with verifiable experience and results sustained over years, and they're also the people who make the creative work that gets shared.

How the show tells a story

Illustrated narrative arcs, technical or not

A fantasy dungeon crawl through a broken martech stack. A survival guide through the job hunt. An oral history of the routines that keep 50 operators sane. One of those is deeply technical. 2 aren't. All 3 get a real narrative arc and full illustrated art, not just a Q&A with a stock thumbnail.

Technical
The Dungeon of Martech Architecture
A 4-part fantasy dungeon crawl through a broken martech stack, with Scott Brinker as the recurring game guide.
Boss battle: the hallucination oracle, a cloaked figure enthroned amid glowing dashboard screens
Moving to a warehouse-native architecture, an armored truck hauling data across a fantasy wasteland
RPG skills tree screen with cards for Causal Inference Protocol, Controlled Experimentation and The Agent Context Graph
Centralizing data only to copy it out is silly, an office consumed by a glowing tower of paperwork
How context rot and fragmentation break AI, old computer terminals reclaimed by a mushroom forest
Boss battle: the agent avalanche, a figure facing a burning tower of collapsing devices
Data quality: when agents read your messy data, a robot eating a bowl of tangled wires like spaghetti
Why agentic AI optimizes for the wrong thing at scale, a giant mech gently watering flowers
Why too many tools break AI agent performance, a robot adventurer tangled in glowing cables
The demotion of the CRM to a specialized tool, a treasure chest of relics on a dungeon workbench

The Martech Job Hunt Survival Guide
A 3-part survival guide through the job hunt, from finding hidden openings to interviewing the company back.
Career security greater than job security, a stormy beach with a battered thatched shelter
AI side projects win interviews, a woman repairing a giant robot in the jungle
Can your hiring manager handle being wrong, a lost figure holding a compass in the jungle
Build the martech portfolio nobody has, a resume displayed in a terrarium case
Find out what the role actually requires, an open bunker hatch overgrown with jungle plants

Numbers and audience

Our reach

Most media kits give you one number and hope you don't ask what's in it. Here are 2, and we'd rather be judged on the smaller one.

17,000 to 21,000 a month, total reach
Everything, across every surface, and it moves month to month. This one does include short-form content like clips and YouTube Shorts, and it does include paid distribution. It's the number most kits would lead with, as a single figure, and leave undefined.
~8,100 a month, organic long-form
The conservative cut: YouTube long-form organic views, newsletter views, blog pageviews and audio downloads. No Shorts, no clips, no paid distribution. These are the formats where somebody sits with the content for real, and this is the number we'd defend line by line.

Monthly organic viewers, listeners and readers, Sep 2022 to Jul 2026. From 385 a month at the start to a peak of 8,611 in Mar 2026, with Jul 2026 at 8,099. Long-form only, and it excludes YouTube Shorts and all paid distribution.
Attention, not impressions

Reach counts how many people. This counts how long they stayed, which is what separates a podcast from a display ad.

4/4
Every flagship slot for 2027 is sold.
This is where we're focused for new partners right now, along with the options in the sections below. Want a flagship slot for 2028? See what's included and get in touch.
Newsletter: PS callout
A short placement in the PS section of the 404 Martech newsletter, built for a qualified martech audience. Launched in 2026 and about to pass 1,000 subscribers. Substack turns each send into a live webpage, which extends reach past the inbox. Over the last 90 days the newsletter has generated nearly 8,000 organic reads and views across email and web.
Blog post: banner
A banner inside long-form blog content, in front of practitioners who are actively learning and comparing approaches. Blog traffic averages 2,000 to 2,500 views a month, all organic. These posts keep attracting readers long after publication, so the placement works as a persistent awareness asset.
Audio episode: post-roll shoutout
A mention at the end of full audio episodes. Spotify data shows roughly 26% to 40% of listeners reach the end credits, against about 1,600 audio listens a month. That completion rate makes it one of the strongest engagement-based assets in the mix.
YouTube: Shorts post-roll
A message at the end of YouTube Shorts, there to add frequency. Shorts performance depends heavily on the algorithm and we're still experimenting. Our best have hit 2,500 organic views; plenty never pass 100 to 200. Roughly 15% to 20% of viewers reach the final 10 seconds where the ad appears.
YouTube: topic primer clip post-roll
A placement at the end of shorter educational clips focused on one martech topic. These land between 20 and 900 views, and 9% to 24% of viewers stay to the end, which makes them more engagement-heavy than Shorts. A strong fit if you want to align with a specific subject area.
YouTube episode: post-roll shoutout
A placement at the end of full-length YouTube episodes. The channel averages 7,000 to 16,000 total views a month, including some paid traffic, which makes it one of the broader reach surfaces. End-of-video retention ranges from 0.5% to 23% depending on the topic.

Skip the line

Just want someone on the podcast?

The show is built around brand-side operators, practitioners doing the real work. We do feature sharp, authentic vendor voices, but demand is the problem: roughly 12 inbound requests a week from technology companies, and a waitlist that now runs into late 2027 and early 2028. Skip-the-line slots are the paid fast track, and they're a separate thing from everything above.

What sponsors say

Featured partner
"You have to think distribution first. Humans of Martech helped us build relationships with marketing practitioners and industry experts to create content around the problems our audience faces and how to solve them. We could educate without turning every conversation into a product pitch. That partnership has influenced nearly seven figures in revenue for MoEngage."
Aditya Vempaty
Aditya Vempaty
VP of Marketing, MoEngage
"We're only three months into our partnership with Phil and Humans of Martech, and we've already converted two customers. It's clear that B2B creators can have an impact when incorporated into your marketing mix and sales strategy."
CJ Reckner
CJ Reckner
Senior Account Executive, Customer.io
"Humans of Martech is building something special! No other podcast connects marketers with data professionals better. Our partnership has helped us reach our exact target audience with high quality content they genuinely trust, giving us far better ROI than larger, less focused channels."
Katy Yuan
Katy Yuan
Product Marketing Manager, Census
"While Humans of Martech has directly contributed to our pipeline, the brand recognition we've gained among our niche ICP has been the real differentiator. Our partnership has placed us exactly where decision-makers gather to learn about new tools and strategies. Renewing for another year was obvious, there's simply no other podcast that reaches our audience with this level of quality and creativity."

Why sponsor a podcast at all

B2B influencer marketing on LinkedIn and YouTube works right now because most companies don't know how to execute it and don't have quality B2B creators they trust. The fit here is narrative rather than scale. Phil doesn't have 200,000 followers. He has dedicated, trusted listeners in a very niche space who keep looking for new product stories worth telling.

Your potential customers care about staying current on tech, trends and what their peers are talking about. The way to get them to care about what you do is to show up where they already are.

Kieran Flanagan, CMO and SVP: "B2B creators are part of your marketing mix. Today's marketing channels favor individuals vs. brands. Creators will be part of a modern marketing mix, likely it will take 15% to 20% of what series D and public companies spend on paid advertising today."

Additional partner perks

4 things that come with a flagship slot

Get contacts at your target accounts on the show
Give us a list of target enterprise accounts. We'll reach out to the relevant decision makers at those accounts and invite them onto the podcast, then make warm intros and help the conversation along. It's an ABM motion where the ask is an interview instead of a demo, which is a much easier yes.
Access to our network of experts for your campaigns
Co-create content with recognized names in our network for your own campaigns. One partner is writing a book and we led the outreach to get contributing experts on board. The same network is available for feedback on campaigns, product messaging and roadmap.
Intros to guests, past and upcoming
Point at anyone who's been in the guest chair, or anyone we've already booked for the months ahead, and Phil makes the introduction himself. He'll say why the conversation is worth their time, so it reaches them as a recommendation from someone they know instead of a cold sequence.
Advice and support on your launches
Phil's always happy to look at a product launch or a campaign before it ships. You get his honest take on positioning, messaging and the go-to-market plan, from someone who spent 13 years in-house doing the same work and who talks to martech and marketing ops leaders every week.
